I had my second ultrasound at 6 weeks 6 days this morning and Baby B was found!!! There was an embroyo inside the sac but the RE did not sound positive. She said they would monitor it, and although we transferred 2 perfect quality embroyo this one is abnormal and that's why it has not grown, it looked half the size of Baby B. My RE said to expect a miscarriage...but we will monitor it. After the RE left, I talked to my nurse about the chances of it becoming a healthy baby and she said that she has seen it happen but they just don't want to give me false hope. My next ultrasound is in 2 weeks and we will check to see the status then.
Has anyone had any experiances like this. We are so grateful for our healthy baby, but now I'm so hopeful that it's twin will make it too! I'm also a little worried that it will put Baby A at risk...is that even possible?
This is going to be so hard for me because my DH and I have deceided not to tell anyone... but I did have permission to tell all my "bump" friends :0)
Thanks Ladies and I hope you have a wonderful hump day!

I hope that your baby is thriving at the next ultrasound. FWIW, I don't think a vanishing twin puts the first baby at any risk.
TTC #1 - May 2010 - IUI #3: BFP
TTC #2 - May 2012 -IUI #2: BFP
A vanishing twin poses virtually no risks on the surviving baby. My DD was a twin for 10 weeks and she was born very healthy!
I hope you have a more positive story, though! Good luck!!
This was me exactly. Now carrying a healthy (so far, knock on wood) singleton.
Hope it works out for both your LOs!
