I have almost no appetite but am so incredibly thirsty. All I do is lay in bed and down cup after cup of water. I feel like I cannot quench my thirst. What is this all about?

Re: Why am I so thirsty?
You don't have gestational diabetes, do you? My GD dietitian told me diabetes often makes people thirsty.
I've also been told that extreme thirst can also be a sign of low iron - I had craaaaaazy cravings for ice, and when I mentioned it to my doctor the first thing he did was run a blood test to check my iron levels - which, sure enough, were quite low. Apparently craving non-food is a symptom of having low iron - sometimes it's dangerous like pica, but just wanting water/ice is pretty common.
All that said, I'm not a doctor - so I'd mention it at your next check up.
Oh yes, I forgot that it's late summer in the States...lol that's a much simpler explanation!
LOL -- I just re-filled my glass of ice water when I saw this post. I'm super thirsty all the time as well. No GD here either. I just can't get enough milk or ice water.
This, I had GD and low iron and I could never drink enough water, but as soon as I had the babies, I can't even drink any water or I want to hurl...lol
