My experience with PT'ing - day 3

Day 1 was Sunday and DS had about 9 accidents but several times wanted to wear double underwear so we went through a total of 13 pairs.  He never did poop, so it was just wet.  He would start then stop peeing and run to the potty.  I have a potty ring but we were at H's house (separated but working things out) and he doesn't like the potty ring there so he chose to sit backwards on the full-size potty.  He would tell me when he was having an accident and would stop himself then run and finish on the potty.  Overall it was a good day and he stayed dry wearing underwear for his nap plus cuddling on my lap afterward so a total of about 3 hours (I reminded him when he woke up he was wearing big boy underwear and needed to go to the potty when he was ready so after awhile he told me he needed to tee-tee). 

Day 2 was Monday (had the day off so I knew I could work with him) and we used 6 underwear, but only had two wet accidents in the morning and he finished on the potty, then he slept and stayed dry for his nap.  He also had two poop accidents (the second was due to not being done when I cleaned him up after the first) and he stayed in 6th pair of underwear all afternoon after the poop accident and had no issues so he went potty every time he needed to and stayed dry in those for about 5 hours in the afternoon/evening.  So Day 2 was 2 wet accidents, and 2 poop accidents and one was a spill of water so I changed him and the 6th pair of underwear stayed dry because he went to the potty everytime he needed to go.  

He has been wanting to go to bed for the night in underwear, and I'm letting him - I just use the waterproof mattress pad and know he will have an accident but since he is asking for underwear I'd rather do that and have extra laundry then confuse him by saying no and putting him in pull-ups.  He has done really well and I'm very proud of him.  We drove for about 20 minutes yesterday so I was worried about the car seat but I reminded him he was in big boy underwear and that he needed to wait until we got home to use the potty and even when we got there he didn't need to go for about another hour.   Today we have some errands to run so I'm slightly nervous about this but think overall it will be okay.  He isn't scared of full size pottys so I hope it goes well! 

I had a total of 18 pairs of underwear but since daycare wanted him to come in underwear today, I sent him with 4 extras plus have 2 extra pair in my diaper bag, so I only have 13 now.  I have more on order (can't find his size around here without Disney sponsored stuff which irritates me and he prefers sports, trucks, etc. and I cannot find them except online so I got him some from Old Navy and Gymboree) so I will have many more but 18 was fine, knowing I would need to do laundry.  I need to work with limiting fluids in the evening and hope that helps with overnights, but I would rather try it if he is asking for underwear then insist on putting him in pull-ups and risk confusing him.  

Sorry this was long, but wanted to post my experience. If you have any questions, ask, I didn't use the 3 day method, I just did our normal day but did dedicate 2 days to being home and that helped.  He is ready though, because I am not pushing this on him at all, he is asking to go and is very proud of himself and I am very matter of fact if he has an accident and just say "okay we will try next time" then we do something else.  I ask him about every 30 minutes if he needs to go potty, but he often doesn't when I ask, and has now begun to tell me when he needs to go which is about every hour and a half or so.
