Pregnant after IF

TMI question - how are you maintaining the bikini zone?

Now that I can't see below my belly, I'm concerned I'm going to nick myself with shaving/trimming that area.

What are you ladies doing?   Can you tell I have a doctors appt today?

Re: TMI question - how are you maintaining the bikini zone?

  • I had laser removal just on the area that would show outside of a bikini years ago.  Other than that, I mostly ignore it. I really don't think they care.

I think I was more skeeved out by the woman on that movie Knocked Up being bald as a baby while delivering than anything looking wild.

Now if you want to do something really special.... Vajazzle it! (kidding!)

  • LOL, I have a Dr. appointment today too.  I try to keep it tidied up by I will admit I am shaving blindly.  It goes OK but I guess that's bc I've been doing it for so long that I "know what I'm doing."  I have nicked myself but it wasn't bad.  Can your DH do it?  I know some ladies cringe at that idea but I think before I go in to deliver I will have him do itEmbarrassed

  • I'm still getting brazillians done about every 6 weeks, although flipping over is becoming a chore so I may have to switch to just bikini waxing. I can't see my chach anymore (or my feet for that matter) so it's more for maintenance than anything.

After babies I reaaaaaaaally want to get laser hair removal done!

Niki- how much does this hurt compared to pre-pregnancy?

I have been a wax only girl for about 6 years now but a girlfriend with 2 kids said the pain was so much worse pg that she scared me off. I shaved a few weeks ago but my skin breaks out in tons of red, itchy bumps a few days after shaving so I'm not keen to do it for the next few months.

  • I attempt it with a mirror in the shower and then have DH tidy up anything I miss.   I only worry about it if we are planning on going swimming somewhere!

It definitely hurts worse, but the pain didn't bother me pre-pg at all so now I just feel it I guess. But you are definitely more engorged down there so there's a lot more sensation. I take two tylenol about an hour before the appointment and that definitely helps. I break out in razor burn too so I just couldn't deal with not waxing.

My first wax of the summer I had DH do because I was too scared to go into the salon to get it done while pg (poor guy) I figured if he waxed a strip and it hurt like a bastard I could just walk away LOL. It was fine :)
