Babies: 9 - 12 Months

soy milk?

I know to hold off on milk until after 12 months, but wondering if I can give DS soy milk?  I have a lot of it because there was a sale recently and I like to use it in drinks for myself and DD.

Just thought if he could have it occasionally it would change things up in his sippy cup.

Re: soy milk?

  • Hey girl!  I don't know about soy milk but I already started S on a bit of cow's milk once she turned 11-months per the doc's advice.  I think the 1 year mark is just because their little bodies can't always process the milk as well.  We gave her a little bit in the beginning and now she drinks around 2-4 oz/day.  We had one bout of runny poop but nothing else.

  • Yeah, I've heard a lot recently about starting a little early, and I started everything for Elliot a little early.  DD doesn't like soy milk and I was hoping to get him used to it early so he might drink it when he's older.

I'll ask the doc when we take him in for his flu shot.
