All day today Cars' has been not himself, just kind of mopey. Not the full of spunk kid we're used to.
We took the dogs to the park and he was doing okay, he had a 100.4 fever and I gave him some tylenol at 1130. We got home at 330 and his fever had spiked to 102.7. I called our no call pedi cause they closed early this weekend. She said to get him to an urgent care or a ER fast because Strep Throat and Infant menigitis has been going around.
We got there. He has his first ear infection =( =( =( =( I'm so sad I could cry. I feel bad for him. We're giving tylenol and Motrin and he is getting antibiotics.
On an annoying note, we're supposed to drive 4 hours tomorrow to visit DH's family and he is acting very annoyed that I said we're playing it by ear cause I'm not taking my poor sick baby 4 hours from home just so his family can see him. I hate that he's acting like this is no big deal and like Cars' should suck it up.
Good Vibes that he gets better tonight and feels better in the morning
Re: Home from our first trip to urgent care =(
Oh no!
Landon had his first ear infection when he was 3 months old, and he currently has his 5th one & we're going to talk about getting tubes put in.
Being in the car seat might help, I know Landon likes being in an sitting position when he has an ear infection. But you're right, if he's really fussy, you really don't want to be in a car THAT long with a fussy baby.
Good luck mama, I hope he feels better soon! Oh, and w/ the meds, he might get runny diapers, so have some diaper rash cream handy! Landon ALWAYS gets diaper rash w/ those stupid antibiotics. Ick.
Awww poor Carson! Annie had an earache once but the antibiotics got rid of it really quick. Also (kinda weird), onion juice in the ears really helps with the pain. I hope he feels better.
You got off Chatzy right when I got back on! I miss you.
This is us. DS just got his 4th in 4 months yesterday and we are looking at inevitible tubes. Our ped would like to try to hold off til he's 1, but I doubt he's gonna make it that long, getting one every month.
