had our level II today PIP

Went to see the perinatologist today for our level II/anatomy scan. The good news is that everything is NORMAL.  After our early NT scare and extra chromosomal testing, this was such a relief.  The peri did order a fetal echo and will continue to monitor things, but she says it's more for extra precaution.  We might put it off unless there is a problem at our next ultrasound, but otherwise the heart looked perfect.

I finally, finally feel like I can relax a little more now.  I can't tell you how devastating it is to hear that something might be wrong so early on, but it has made us grateful for every day of this pregnancy.

As for the pics, LO was very cooperative for the tech, but not so cooperative for us...We really didn't get a good look at her profile because she was turned away for most of the scan and then she turned to face us.  DH said I'm giving birth to Voldemort.  Stick out tongue

Re: had our level II today PIP

  • Glad to hear everything is good!

Babies do look a bit odd when they face you and have their mouth open. LOL We had a good one like that with our daughter. She still has yet to shut her mouth. :P

  • Glad to hear that everything is good for you...what a relief! I have to see a perinatologist for another u/s since there were some issues with my son...hopefully things will be good for us too...hate the waiting part, totally sucks!
  • That's great news!

And, while you give birth to Voldemort, I will be giving birth to the Scream baby. Stick out tongue

Great to hear!!!! See, there are many positive stories out there for women with abnormal NT scan measurements. I am definitely moving forward with the fetal echo- mine is 9/22 and then we'll know for sure that the measurement meant nothing!! Have a good weekend :-)
