So as I said in the post DH has a 2004 Pontiac GTO. Its 2 doors and also only has 2 seats in the back and they are bucket seats. It is hard to get myself in the backseat, I cant eve imagine a car seat. Is it safe to have a car seat in buck seats like that? And there is no middle seat, obviously. He doesnt want to get rid of it bc it is paid off and is his "baby."
Re: s/o car post : 2 door cars
DH had one for a short time after DS was born, we got a 4 door probably when he was around 8 months. We got it right before we moved him to a convertable seat.
It was doable, but was just a hassle sometimes. It's much easier to do it with an infant seat because you can just pop the seat in and out. But with a RFing convertable seat you're going to actually have to get into the backseat to buckle them up. So depending on how long your baby can stay in the infant seat (they usually get too heavy to carry before they reach the height/weight limits) and if you turn your baby forward facing at 1 (and if they meet the weight requirements), you may not have to deal with it for too long. But we did extended rear facing until DS was almost 22 months, so it just made more sense for us to go to a 4 door car.

I agree. I have a 2 door VW hatchback. I know car seats fit because I am a nanny and use my car. I am looking into smaller car seats like the Maxi-Cosi. Over in Europe they have even smaller cars than us, and they have children. It's totally doable.
I currently have an 05 honda civic with 2 doors and I absolutely love my car but am worried about getting a car seat in and out of the back seat. My mom said she did it with me for about 6 months and yes its a pain but it can be done. We looked in to getting a different 4 door but with all that we have going on ( baby expenses, buying a new house) I just don't think it would be a smart move.
My husband has an older ford bronco another 2 door car which we've only had for a year its not my favorite car but he loves it.... the main problem with it is the lack of A/C we live in riverside and needless to say it gets pretty hot here so I am worried about having a baby in a car with no temperature control
