I have to go to the hospital to have u/s done since there's no u/s machine at my doc's office. When we went in for our first u/s at 17 weeks, the tech said by the time my OB orders another u/s they should be able to do a 3D one. I was really excited to find out that the tiny community hospital we're delivering at has this awesome technology. Idk when my next u/s will be, but I'm assuming it'll be about halfway thru my 3rd tri.
I will schedule my 3d/4d with this LO between 30 and 32 weeks. My ob switched to 4d at DS's 20 week ultrasound and it was totally creepy. This pic is from his 32 week 4d and I guess I just don't see anything creepy about it at all. It's pretty much how he looked when he was born. I suppose to some people that's creepy
He was pretty scrunched in there at that point though so maybe a couple weeks earlier would have been better.

I've had mine scheduled for tomorrow for a while now. Our place does a series- you come back 3 times and they put it all on a DVD to music for you.
I'm just excited to receive any pics- only got 1 at the anatomy scan and we didn't even get to see baby for very long. When we had the anatomy scan done, the Tech was super grumpy and was running behind schedule....
So Saturday is our first day for the series. Will let you know how it goes!

I had one done at 16 weeks to tell us the sex, another at 19 weeks to "confirm" the sex (tech was only 95% sure), then my anatomy scan did one, and I'm going back at 28 weeks to have one done where all the "fat has filled her in so she doesn't look scary." (tech's words).
Re: 3D/4D u/s
YES! I want to want to do one, because so many people rave about them, but they creep me the hell out.
If I were to do one, the place I'd use recommends anytime between the 26th and 32nd week.
