Pregnant after IF

Those who had OHSS?

I am currently 12 1/2 weeks and some days my belly is as big as it was when I had OHSS in the first month.  Is it possible that my OHSS has not gone away yet?  Before I left my RE, he said it should go away before the end of the 1st trimester.  I am getting a bit converned

Re: Those who had OHSS?

  • My OHSS disappeared at 8 weeks.

Maybe you should call both your RE and OB to let them know you're still experiencing OHSS symptoms. I hope it resolves soon.

  • some amounts of pregnancy bloating is normal. If you're not having pain or retaining fluid, I'm guessing it's no longer the OHSS.

But it can never hurt to call.

  • I think mine went away around 10 weeks but I still feel super bloated some days.  The symptoms have went away but my ovaries were still enlarged at my last appt at 13 weeks (currently 15 weeks).  Doctor said everything was fine though.  I definitely feel more bloated then a few of my friends that are pregnant and they did IUI and natural.  It could just be the wonderful perk of IVF.

Thanks for sharing this.  It is not everyday but many days I wake up and I have a little bump and then my bedtime my belly looks like I am 5-6 months pregnant, like it did with the OHSS.  Maybe it is from all the meds.  I was just getting a little concerned.

  • Mine lasted much longer than the norm as well.  I think I was almost 14 weeks before that nasty bloat feeling went away.  I still had the prego bloat but it is not the same.  Both my RE and OB said it really just depends on the individuals.  My ovaries were still enlarged more than they normally are with the PCOS even at my 18 week appt.  But at my 20 weeks scan, everything look normal and I have felt much better without that nasty OHSS bloat!  Just try to hang in there!
