I first of all want to thank everyone for their kind words early this morning. I was seriously losing my mind.
My MFM called me back and reassured us that everything is completely fine. The head measurement image is definitely distorted and not correct in her opinion, but it is because he has himself wedged so far into my pelvis that it is next to impossible at this point to get an accurate reading. As far as the femur is concerned, is he going to be a shorty? Yes, but is that an issue, no. The femur legnth is used as a second trimester screening tool, not a third trimester screening tool. She stated there is absolutely no medical evidence that a short femur at 34 weeks indicates there is something wrong. Plus she pointed out that he is still within the average range and that they will check it again in a month...but at 38 weeks I think its a moot point. Lastly, she said if I remember correctly you and your husband are both short so you aren't going to have a tall baby. I am not going for the additional scan today because she thinks its pointless and that my OB was worrying me for no reason.(As if that is something new)
The only issue she sees is me having a vaginal delivery with his huge noggin. Luckily I am not even attempting it so that's not an issue.
My mom said this to me this morning and I found it pretty hysterical...
"Two chihuhas aren't going to make a great dane."
Re: Update!
I am so glad that everything is working out!!!!!
My DD has a big head and she is very petite. It is because she has so much brain power in there!!! LOL!
shortly after she was born her head measured in the 75th percentile and her weight and height were 3-5%.
LOL! That is funny that your mom said that! DH and I are both short/small builds too, so I get it : )
I'm glad everything seems to be fine!
GREAT NEWS!!!! I'm so sorry that the OB got you worked up for no reason and I'm so happy that the baby is just gonna be a little guy like mom and day.
