I'm thinking about starting to look for a new job... I'm in an optional float pool position at one of the hospitals, and had been getting hours pretty regularly but I've been cancelled/put on call so hit or miss lately, it's getting aggravating (thank goodness we have grandmas who watch Ethan and don't mind a 5:30 am call to tell them they can stay in bed). I love the flexibility of being optional without a big weekend or holiday requirement (work 2 weekend shifts per 6 weeks/one summer and one winter 8 hour holiday), having a higher pay, and not having to work as many hours. I generally work 24-32 hours per week. I float but just to med surg and help out in same day surgery/ER if needed for med surg holds... I do not have my ACLS. This is probably the next step I need to take...
