Are diapers confusing when PT?

We were "easing" into PT this week, and have been spending a few hours each day naked or in panties. Didn't have time to go all out just yet. Today and tomorrow are D day, in that we are doing panties or naked all day except for sleep.

Do you think that switching from diapers to none throughout the day is confusing? I am talking about like what we have been doing the last few days. I don't think DD is ready to do naps and night yet, and I think she will understand diapers are only for sleeping.

Just wondering if I can expect a bit more success with diaper free all day.

Re: Are diapers confusing when PT?

  • I do personally think diaper are confusing if you are trying to potty train.  During awake times you should definitely go without diapers or how will she learn?  I am all about getting rid of all the diapers for good (including naps/nite) but if you aren't I would switch to pull ups and not call them diapers.

This. He wears diapers for naps and nighttime (and is reluctant to have them changed off immediately afterwards, so sometimes for an extra period of time). But still he seems to be doing pretty well, and has started waking up from naps dry as well in the past few days.

Ditto.  DS also wears diapers at night and during naps.  He usually wakes up dry after naps and sometimes he's dry in the morning too.
