diaper question for 2nd timers?

So I started stocking up on some diapers since I got some killer deals on amazon.  This is what I got

jumbo box of Newborn Pampers sensitive (120) - $9

jumbo box of Size 1 Pampers sensitive (180) -$11

jumbo box of Size 2 Pampers sensitive -$10

Is this to much of any? Just enough or do I need more?  I figured I'd only do one box of each.  I estimated only about 2 weeks in newborns and considering they get changed around 8 times a day the Newborns should last a little over 2 weeks and the size 1's and 2's I only bought one of each and if I need more later I'll get them then.

TIA

Re: diaper question for 2nd timers?

  • I would stick with that for now, my ds was in newborn diapers for about 3 weeks. The hospital will send you home with some diapers and then if you need more after you get through the jumbo box just buy smaller packs as you need them till you get to 1s

  • Looks like a good start.

I need someone to teach me how to get these deals...I have tried to look at prices on Amazon and diapers.com and can't seem to convince myself it's cheaper than stacking coupons at the store....but you got great deals!  What's the secret?

I used the ship and save program which gives you 30% off up front and then I had two 20% off coupons...one from Parents magazine and one from Parenting magazine and you can use both and then there was an amazon coupon for a few dollars off.  I wasn't planning on stocking up but I knew I couldn't beat those deals.

  • If you have a sams club around where you live that is the ideal place to get diapers you can buy them by the bulk of over 200 for less than 30$
  • We bought a year membership to Costco ($50) and are planning to get our diapers there. The price savings is too good and definitely worth more then the 50 we put out of pocket already!
  • Baby Bargains suggest 100 newborn diapers and 500 size one diapers. I'm a first time mom so I don't know how accurate this is, but the rest of the book seems to be spot on with everything that other moms say out there.  Hope this helps.
