Sore belly normal? — The Bump

Sore belly normal?

Yesterday, ALL day, my WHOLE belly (top to bottom, side to side) was sore, and no matter what position I was in (sitting, standing, laying down) it hurt and was uncomfortable.  It is a bit better today, but still uncomfortable. Plus, babies haven't been too active since Friday night (I have felt them once or twice during the day, but unlike them).  I called nurse just now, but am waiting for OB to call back.

Anyone exprience this?  Normal?  Part of the joys of pregnancy?  I'm concerned now... hoping they have me go in for u/s this afternoon.

Re: Sore belly normal?

  • Update - doc just called and wants me to go in for an u/s this afternoon to make sure babies are okay.  He asked if I've felt them at least 10-12x a day, and they haven't been that active since Friday!  ::sigh:: I'm sure all is well, but still nervous.

  • Im glad your going in.. Its always best to be safe.. GL

And as far as the sore belly goes, I don't remember it with my other two but this one I have been feeling that way.. I have my u/s tomorrow so Im just going to mention it then. It is strange though.

  • Glad you're getting in for an u/s. I've had a sore belly at different times, but I can't really remember how that correlated to his activity. I do notice a decrease in movement during the times I'm feeling my worst, and then he starts back up again when I'm feeling better. GL, and I'm sending you positive vibes.
  • I have had a sore belly on and off this pregnancy that I attribute to my skin and muscles stretching since this belly is so out there. Since you are carrying two, I can only assume you would stretch more and faster.

Good luck at the u/s.  I am sure everything is fine but is is always better to get some reassurance - and you get to see your boys again!

That's what I thought, which is why I never called doctor yesterday.  Oh well.  I'm sure all is well, and they are just messing w/ mommy already.

  • Update - got back from u/s a little while ago.  Boys are doing great.  However, they are def their father's sons.  Playing jokes on us at such an early stage.  They hid from the camera, and refused to show their face... trouble-makers!

    Baby A - h/b 162, weighs 2lbs 2 oz

    Baby B - h/b 134, weighs 2lbs 6 oz

Cervix still nice and closed.  Still haven't felt them move too much, but tech says that may be b/c of the position of the placentas (one in front and one in back - so extra cushion before reaching uterus, which prevents me from feeling them).  All I care about is that they are keep growing perfectly.  : )
