I stopped PIO, estrace and aspirin all at 12 weeks exactly, without weaning... but I think most girls on here stop much sooner than that.

I asked to come off of them as quickly as possible. I was taken off at 9 weeks. My p4 was high enough and once the babies have an amniotic sac they are producing progesterone on their own. I hated the feeling of the suppositories. Too bad I had no idea that vaginal discharge in 2nd tri would be worse :P
If you want to stay on longer, they probably won't have a problem letting you do so!
Thanks everyone! Maybe I'll just stay on them a bit longer. They never measured my p4 at ALL since the IUI, and they never do if you are on suppositories, which is kind of weird.

Anyway, I feel better now Thanks!
Oh - I didn't realize you had an IUI. Technically if you get pregnant with an IUI you don't really need the progesterone support at all. Your body acts like you have gotten pregnant naturally. It's with IVF cycles that your body needs the progesterone support since it doesn't know to produce the hormone by itself. You should be totally fine
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2 After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!

Not weird at all. Suppositories don't raise the measurable P4 level in the blood - so measuring the P4 while on supps, doesn't really tell you anything other than your natural levels.

I stopped at 10 weeks. The placenta should take over with progesterone production by 8 or 9 weeks. If you are uncomfortable about stopping, you can always talk to your doctor about it.
I was told that I have to be on them for 12 weeks. I have my last appt with my RE Thursday so I will continue taking them until I get the final verdict from him then.
