Pregnant after IF

OMG - The Help (spoiler alert)

I am in the middle of the book. I just read the part where Celia has a miscarriage...

It really snuck up on me. When I realized what was going on I started shaking and crying. And then she explained that she thought if she laid really still all the time... How many of us can relate to that?

I just wasn't expecting it at all. And I think the hormones have me all emotional. It was just a horrible scene.

  • I totally know what you mean, I wasn't expecting it, either.  It really affected me, too.  *hugs*

  • That is one of the best books I have read in YEARS. I was prepared for that part - maybe it's the English teacher in me, but I felt like there was a ton of foreshadowing leading up to that scene. I still felt awful for her though. We have definitely been there. I wish I didn't have the ability to relate to what she went through.

  • I wasn't expecting this either, though I absolutely loved the book (keep reading).  I read it the last time I was cycling, big mistake.  I find lately whenever I try to relax/escape with a book or movie, there is some reference to IF...  :(

  • Yeah I read that book a few weeks ago!  That was a very hard scene to get through.  I know my last miscarriage we had found out that the heart had stopped, and i scheduled a d/c for after the weekend.....little did I know that night I'd have horrid cramps at my Inlaws house and end up in pain on the floor bleeding like crazy....I didn't pass the baby though, but it was very much like what I experienced
