So I was pretty set on the Bananafish Love Bird bedding, but last night dh and I stopped by BRU and we found this bedding set (Bloom by Amy Coe) on clearance for 1/2 off.

We also found the lamp 1/2 off

Then a nice lady gave us a 20% off coupon, so the two items cost us a whopping $95!
So today we scoured FIVE other BRU locations in Houston and were able to piece together 2 extra crib sheets (plus my sister out of state found 4 more...no worries, a few will be converted for a seat cushion for the window seat in the nursery and/or curatins). They were at a store that was closing, so we got an extra 20% off the 7.98 sale price. We also found the wall decals, two fleece blankets that coordinate, and the 2 piece canvas art both 1/2 off plus 20% more. We spent $43 on all that.

I am pretty stoked at the great price we got everything for and am so excited to get started with the nursery now! I just need to decide what colors to paint...am thinking pink and yellow...thoughts?
Re: Bought bedding!
I thought about that...but with white furniture, I was afraid it would be too white. Definitely thinking lighter colors on the walls, I agree about wanting the bedding to pop!
Ohhhhhhhh - Love everything! I say just a pale yellow or just a pale pink - not two-toned and nothing too dark.
I had a crappy BRU experience - took the hour ride yesterday and they didn't have the stroller I wanted to try out (we even brought our carseat so I could try it with that and DD), didn't have the glider I wanted, and didn't have bedding we both liked.
I helped a woman who was shopping with her husband though. She was clueless, looked very scared and seemed to be struggling to pick out a breastpump. Her baby was in the NICU at the local hospital and they were there buying a pump - I helped her and gave her my 20% off coupon - it was nice to help someone else.
Very cute!
I think a very pale green would be really pretty and be a soothing element against the bright colors.

This. I think a green would really let the bedding stand out. Too much pink might make it all blend together. The bedding is beautiful and congrats on all of those sales.
