With my DD since it was my parents' first grand kid.. I bought them "Spot loves his grandma" and "spot loves his grandpa" and had my parents open them in different rooms... They both were both to tears... Now with my next one I bought a " I'm going to be a Big Sister.. April 2011" now just waiting to tell them I am trying to hold out to 10 weeks but do not think I will make it... I guess I have to wait at least until the t-shirt gets here.
Re: how I am telling parents...
well im in a sticky situation....
im 18 turning 19 before the baby gets here, and well most likely gonna be a single mother. Well a single mother in the since the dads not going to be around, but ill have the support of my family. Ive already told my grandparents because i knew they would be accepting and loving. and they were. I walked up to them today actually and said "Your gonna be Great Grandparents again!!" they were excited.
Now im telling my parents tomorrow. This is gonna be more complicated, because as a teenage-single-mother there going to be a bit more disappointed, especially since i just started school, and starting my job.
But however it goes, i know i have the love and support of my family. i always will
LOL! I know, it is so hard!! I also bought DS a Big Brother shirt (Bought it even before I was PG or really "trying" b/c I found it at Gymboree one day)
and I can NOT wait to let him wear it over to the G'parents house. I also plan to take a pic of him wearing it to send to my DH only aunt who we are very close to who lives pretty far away. I can't wait to get the call after she receives the pic in the mail! It is so hard waiting though! I have been sitting here tonight seriously considering letting him wear it over to the in-laws tomorrow for our usual family lunch on Sundays and then stopping at my parents' who live about 10 or less minutes away from them. I really wanted to wait until after the first US or at least until 6 or so weeks. But.....I am caving fast. DH supports me wanting to wait to tell, but really, given the choice, would tell in a heartbeat.
Good for you for having a positive outlook! It might be a little to get over at first but I know your family will be there for you! Be strong and enjoy being a mom!
