For a boy or a girl? I've heard both. It's not a bad name for a boy. It's appropriately masculine.

It's awful for a girl, though. If she goes by her whole name, she sounds boyish. If she shortens it to Becky....yech.

My cousin named her son Beckett.  At first I really disliked it, because like the pp said it sounds harsh.  But it has grown on me a little, although it is definitely nms.
