my fiance and i have been together for over 4 years with no success on conceiving. he has a terminal lung disease called cystic fibrosis which causes alot of problems. pardon the bluntness but there is little to no semen when he goes. i also have some severe problems as well hasnt been diagnosed yet but we are almost positive i have endometriosis. we dont want to adopt and we have no insurance and he is disabled and therefore cannot work luckily though he is on medicaid. i guess i am just wondering if there are ideas on anything maybe someone has heard to maybe help us out..any advice would be greatly appreciated...
Re: Does anyone have advice PLEASE!!
It varies so widely per person and couple.
Truly the best advice is to go see an RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist). They are the experts. The only way to know what to do in each individual case is to see one. Especially if you have a slow sperm issue as many of us do.
That's the best advice to give in your situation. I'd say about 95% on the board are currently going to one now.
The Conception Craze
1/2009- TTTC
After 7 rounds of clomid and HcG, Three failed IUI's with an ectopic pregnancy, two shots of methotrextate, ER visits, breaks, low (3%) morphology One IVF cycle (lupron, gonal-F) that ended in another ectopic, more methotrexate, A Lap to disconnect both tubes, remove endo and a hydrosalphinx, . . .we are finally expecting TWINS from FET#1!
1.11. 2011: Beginning FET cycle!
3.11.11- FET! (DH's birthday!) 2 blasts transfered!
3.20.11- BETA #1 BFP!!! 272! (9dp5dt)
3.23.11- BETA #2 1346!!! (12dp5dt)
4.8.11- U/S #1. . TWINS!!! . . .TWO BOYS!
9.10.11-My beautiful Boys arrive unexpectedly at 28 weeks, 6 days.
Has your fiance had a semen analysis? Depending on what that shows, you may be able to try a few IUI's. But you might need IVF with ICSI.
Have you had Cystic Fibrosis testing? If you aren't a carrier, your children will carry the CF gene, but not have the disease. If you carry the gene, 50% of your children will have CF, so you may choose to do PGD.
Good luck to you!

I'm a CF spouse too. We're using donor sperm after two failed IVFs. We do know a number of CF males who've had luck with IVF.
His CF doc hasn't talked to him about CBAVD?
I'm sorry to be the bearer of this news, but he probably doesn't have any sperm in his semen due to that. He probably has some in his testes, but it would have to be surgically removed and you'd need IVF.
Have you been tested to see if you are a carrier?
