Hi girls-- I'm sure a lot of you won't recognize me since I haven't been on here in quite a long time (thats what working 60 hours a week for the last 4 months will do), but I assure you I'm an old timer from this board.
**Hi to any "old timers" who may check this post...I've missed you all and do check in regularly on how you are all doing! I've been in lurker mode since I haven't even had time to go see a new RE)
Anyhow--
Do any of you upstate NY girls happen to go to Albany IVF and see Dr. Horvath?
I have insurance coverage now (for IUI and meds) and there are only 2 RE's listed that my plan covers so I'm looking for any feedback on him? Good/Bad/Ugly? (I was hoping I'd be able to go to CNY but it looks like its not in the cards)
Any feedback y'all can offer would be greatly appreciated! I'm super excited to be jumping back in the game and am very anxious to get Repeat Loss testing done to see why the heck I can't seem to stay PG.
Thanks all!!
Jenn

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

I was a patient at A.IVF. I called both A.IVF and C.NY when I was looking for doctors and the C.NY receptionists were dumb and told me they did not take my insurance (BCBS) - they were wrong. Best thing to do is call your insurance company and see who they cover and refer to them by doctor's names.
I had a mixed experience at A.IVF - I'm KU, but I had some issues with the way things shook down with IVF #1 (mostly with nursing staff, not with Dr. H) - you can feel free to pm me for details.
In the end I got KU, which is the whole point, and I think Dr. H is very knowledgeable and is a good doctor. I don't have anything bad to say about him at all.
After my first IVF cycle ended in a blighted ovum I went to C.NY for a consult and while I was impressed with their facility I didn't think they took into consideration (enough) my previous responses to injectibles and my e2 levels from IVF #1. I wasn't happy with the suggested protocol (even though I liked their staff very much) and thought Dr. H did a better job of dialing me in for IVF #2 so I stuck with A.IVF. I'm so glad I did.
GL with your decision!
