s/o bdays...

I'm planning ds bday cake...  I am thinking (maybe) of trying a number cake and found this site...

    thanks!   I think I need to make them a little smaller for the cake.  and let the spoilers dry a little more before adding them.  otherwise, good first try.  I've never worked with gum paste before.

    Super cute!! ESP! for a 1st try!!  Its hard to tell the size in the pick without them being next to something but they would be SUPER cute on the # shaped cake!  with like crushed oreos as the road, etc.

    They look terrific.  I can't believe you were able to make them on your first try.  I've been afraid of trying to work with gum paste- I think I'm going to try for my son's birthday- you've inspired me.
    3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
    IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

    go for it!  it wasn't too bad. a bit sticky at first.  but not bad... just buy gloves for coloring the gum paste.

    well, I used food coloring to dye the gum paste. not sure if you can buy gumpaste that's already dyed or not?  but I bought the wilton's icing coloring to dye it.  you don't need much... kneed it in... once it was kneaded in good I could work with it without gloves... but while kneading the color in, I had the icing color all over my gloves.
