This is a list of women who are dealing with PCOS. Anyone can join in, so let me know if you want to be on this list! We can keep track of everyone?s cycle, offer advice, and support for each other. We check in every week, and the check-ins can always be found in the PCOSbio.
Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

Let us know how you are doing. If you have any questions for the group to answer, feel free to ask.
QOTW: Metformin Gals...Do you get very fatigued from it? I seem to be dragging all day long.
Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~ PAIFW
Update: I am on lupron (and a million pills) for IVF w/ICSI #1 and I am VERY excited.
QOTD: The only problem that I had was my GI tract was in complete disarray ALL THE TIME. Oh, and my liver almost died and they had to take me off of it =(
Update: I started cycle #4 with the research study yesterday. I didn't respond (again) to the meds. I'm hoping for better results this time since they increased my dose again.
QOTW: n/a
A+S | Met 8/24/06 | Married 9/27/08
Started TTC 12/2008 | dx PCOS 5/2009
6 failed clomid/femara/TI cycles, 1 failed clomid/ovidrel/IUI cycle
Successful Cycle: 5/12/11 - 1000mg Metformin + 100mg Clomid(late response) + TI = BFP
2/13/12 - We proudly welcomed our daughter, Hadley Teresa!
Lots of Luck to all of 3T/IF
Update: Waiting for my appointment with the new fertility clinic on Sep 10th.
QOTD: I dont think so.
Update on Me: Non-medicated cycle produced a + OPK last saturday (after a few days of negatives), so hoping that means I really did ovulate. If so, I am in the 2WW with fingers crossed for a break cycle BFP... Of course, my mind is already playing tricks on me (sore boobs, nausea today, which is way to early for symptoms, I know)...
QOTW: It took me a LONG time to get up to a full 1500 mg of Met. I took my escalation very slowly and that seemed to help alot. The only time I really have any problems now is when I miss a dose or 2 in 1 day, then I may have diarrhea for a few days. I don't notice any fatigue that I specifically contribute to the Met.
Dx PCOS 2003/high fasting insulin/clotting issues DH Dx with low sperm count, motility and morphology. Varicocele repair (11/1/2010)
2/2011 - Confirmed no improvement - On to Donor Sperm
4 failed IUIs in 2010
IUI#5 and 6- with DS, BFN
Final IUI - Lucky #7! IUI with DS - 20.Jun.2011 - 21.5 mil motile! Not so lucky - BFFN and the end of our IF journey....
Waiting for our family to be complete through Adoption - May 2012 - Hoping our baby finds us soon!
getting myself back on track with my meds. also waiting for "O" so we can call dr for IUI #3.
QOTD: Met doesn't make me tried, just my stomach issues.
Update: I'm 11dpIUI and based on P4 levels, I would say I'm out. But I have a new protocol next cycle, the last before IVF.
QOTD: n/a
~Life After Infertility~
Update: I am still waiting on AF to show her head. I have been cramping the last few days so I am hoping she is on her way! Once she arrives we will be starting our meds and hopefully cycling
QOTW: I had to build myself up to 1500 mg and probably the first week my full dose was bad, but once I was past that week I have been fine.
Update on me: Waiting to see if I ovulate on my own again this month like last... not starting treatments until January, so we're still just trying on our own and hoping for a miracle. Last month was the first time I've ever ovulated on my own.
QOTW: I am very tired in general, but was before Met and still am now... I blame it more on my thyroid problems and being overweight/stressed.
nothing new for me.
QOTW: no fatigue from met, just a lower tolerance for alcohol, much to the amusement of H.
Me: PCOS/Amenorrhea DH: Azoospermia due to Y Chromosome Micro Deletion IVF w/ ICSI on hold until further notice
Hope
I've been on metformin/actos for 24 days (started on CD1) and actually ovulated! i am now 9dpo, but since we are TTA this cycle, I am just waiting and hurrying AF to show!
QOTW: I have noticed that I am VERY tired lately, but I was tired before, too!
Update: I got the green-light at my post op appointment! I am taking Provera starting September 8th and then 150 mg Clomid CD3-8. I am getting really excited to just get the show on the road!
QOTW: I don't notice any fatigue with Met, just GI issues.
Update: I went to my first OB appointment on Tuesday & had my first u/s (with my RE) on Thursday. I didn't see my RE, but another doctor at the office. She said my baby is measuring a little behind, but we did hear/see the heartbeat. She has me scheduled for another u/s next week to make sure he/she is growing appropriately.
QOTW: I was only on Met for 3-months, so I'm not sure. I don't remember being tired though.

update: finally TTC again. On an exercise and eating regimen that seemed to help speed up ovulation last month, so hopefully it will again.
QOTW: sorry, never been on metformin
Other questions: 1- who have you told you have PCOS? & at what point in time did you tell them?
2- Has anyone else tried the exercise and diet plan? Which one? was it something guided by your doctor, or something you tried independently?
I'm new to the site and the boards. I was diagnosed in 2002 with PCOS, off BC for 6 months with no AF and AO. Just finished my first round of Clomid (50mg) with no ovulation. Waiting to start second round. Would love to be added to your list and have the advice and support! I'm new to all this!
Thanks!
no real update on me.
QOTD: I never had fatigue as a s/e of Met. Honestly the only s/e was the stomach issues and that left after the first month or so.
After two losses, third time was a charm.
pm me for blog link
Update: Waiting for AF (any day now)....then we start our 6th and final IUI before moving on.
QOTW: I have only had GI issues while on Met, only have been on it for, soon-to-be 8 weeks. To answer fusionbride: I have told my friends and my Mom about my "PCOS"...it still hasn't been confirmed yet. I have tried the low-card & workout plan...the workout plan I can stick to, but the low-carb diet is another issue. My RE just mentioned that he liked the low-carb diet, but didn't come right out and say "you should do this" or anything along that line. It was one of those, throw it out there and let's see if the patient picks up the hint kind of deals.

**PAIF/SAIF Welcome**
QOTW: i really haven't experienced any fatigue from the Met. though i really haven't had time to notice!
I keep missing these check-ins! Well, our last cycle (first with the RE) resulted in a bfp, but after going through some beta hell we discovered it was a c/p. Because my beta was back to 0, we got the green light to TTC again right away, so I went in for my CD3 u/s today and they found a ton of crazy cysts. So we're canceled until Oct. Boo.
QOTD: Met actually makes me feel more energized because it evens out my energy levels over the course of the day.
We're now on cycle #5. My OB told us to try for 6 months and then come in for a referral to an RE, but we've decided to wait until after Christmas to start RE appointments. I guess we're just hopeful that it might happen without help.
QOTD: I don't feel like Met makes me tired at all. I've actually never felt better since I've been on Met. Of course, I've also managed to get my A1C from a 6.7 down to a 5.7, so I'm down to pre-diabetic levels, so I think that helps! I had GI problems with it for sure, but even that has gone away.
Update: Not much going on with me. I was thinking (and hoping!) I might O on my own this month and have been using OPKs...dillusional! (sp?) No + yet...I am going to see an endocrinologist on Sept. 22.
QOTW: Never been on met...
HI- I am new can I join you guys? :-)
You may think I am joining prematurely- I do not want to offend anyone. Just please let me know if you don't think this is the board for me. I was diagnosed with PCOS only a week ago, (sonogram showed the pretty pearl necklaces on both Ov). I have some more tests to go through next couple of weeks. This whole deal is just all news to me right now. Talking about a surprise at the RE office - I thought he may find something wrong with me at some point but since I seemed to be ovulating (or was I???) I wasn't really expecting a PCOS diagnosis. Looking back I guess I was in denial to stay optimistic. I got over it (more or less) and look forward to learning from you if that's okay.
I am on day10 now and honestly just waiting for AF to show up so I can go on with the testing.
That is it from me. Happy Sunday Ladies!
*PCOS bio* *Cold Hands, Warm Heart*
Update: I'm 10dpiui and beta on 9/2.
QOTW: No - I had GI issues the first couple of months but I'm pretty much back to normal. No fatigue but I'll have a couple GI issues if I eat something I shouldn't...
