1st pregnancy and 1st appointment

This is our first pregnancy and I have my first OB appointment scheduled at 8 weeks.  I was wondering if my husband should come to the first appointment.  He said he just wants to be "at the important ones".  Since this is my first, I'm not sure what they do at the first appointment

paperwork, medical history, info, yada yada yada.

some to u/s's, some don't.  You wouldn't see much anyway.

My DH only goes to my big u/s and my growth u/s's later.

This is the first appointment they will have you pee on a stick or get blood work , I know its not exciting , but when I found out my boyfriend was sitting right next to me ( even though we already knew ) and it was so exciting , im extremly glad he came , the few after that until your 20 week ultrasound ,you can prob do alone !!!

I had a 5 week appointment, and I was SO glad DH was there.  He came in the whole time, asked questions, and they asked him about health issues on his side.  It was perfect to have him there!

My next one is 11 weeks where they will check for the heartbeat.  Why don't you call and ask what they do at the 8 week appointment?  Either way, it's good for DH to learn and go through the process with you.

I had a paperwork appointment first and the first real appointment with DD included an ultrasound. It was amazing!!!! I would have been so upset if DH hadn't been there. 

Maybe call your doctor and ask what to expect? That way he can come if necessary.

With my first baby, DH wasn't at any appointments until 20 weeks. He wasn't there for the first u/s, but it wasn't a huge deal.
