My cycle has been cancelled

I am actually not in tears - which is surprising.  Somehow I have managed to maintain my composure.

This was supposed to be my last IVF attempt with my own eggs. 

Since I found out the instructions I received for part of my protocol were incorrect, everything has gone downhill.  My estrogen level dropped to 502 from 600 two days ago.  I only have 3 mature follicles.

We are going to do an IUI, which is probably somewhat pointless since we are also MFI.  I will be triggering tonight and going in tomorrow morning and Saturday morning.

My RE is refunding me back my payment.  He is also giving me another IVF cycle for $500 (the anesthesia fee is the only thing they can't waive).  He is also getting me all of my meds (typically $5,000 - $7,000) for another IVF cycle.

My RE knows that it was important for me to get closure with this IVF cycle so that I could move on to DE.  So that is why I am going to be doing another IVF cycle ONE.MORE.TIME.

I still love my RE and feel better that they are trying to do the right thing and correct their mistake as much as possible.

I am so sorry that your cycle is cancelled, sweetie. I know that really sucks. I think that based on what you said the other night about worrying about the mis-step in the protocol, this will work out for the best. If you didn't get your BFP because of it, you'd always be wondering. Now you can get a fresh start and do the cycle the right way. Again, I am so sorry, but I hope this next one is it for you!

Well, as much as it sucks that your cycle is cancelled I think thats fantastic that your RE is refunding your payment and getting you all of your meds.

That is really good news.. If the cyyle didn;t work, you may have worried it was becasue of the protocol. I am so glad that you are getting another shot. Your RE did the right thing and that is to be respected. Sounds like you are in good hands. Hopefully, the IUI will do the trick and you won't even have to worry about cycling again!

Also it says a lot about your RE that they are voluntarily giving you your money back, giving you another IVF for $500 and paying for the meds for the next cycle.
