Hi! Im new to this board and have no clue what kind of diapers to use. All I know is they have to be organic or cloth, not regular diapers. What's the best out there as far as healthy, green diapering? I want to put diapers on my registry.
I think the first question you need to answer for yourself is whether or not you want to do cloth or disposable. Are you willing to do laundry every 2-3 days? Is your DH comfortable with the idea?
For cloth there are the following options:
prefolds with covers and snappies or pins (cheapest)
Fitted usually with a cover (usually just in one size, and need to change as they grow)
All in one (thicker, no cover is required)
Pocket diapers (many different kinds on the market, Bum Genius, Happy Heinys, Rumparoos, G Diapers) Most have a One size option, from birth to potty trained
Hybrid (cloth cover with disposable inserts) usually more expensive, but a nice compromise between cloth and disposables (Flip, G-diapers)
If you are doing cloth, I can tell you that most people won't buy them for you. I have a registry but people are more weary about cloth, and usually won't buy it as a gift.
