Baby Names

Last name is Holler

We've having a boy and DH was thinking of Clayton Wayne (both our dad's middle names) but I'm having 2nd thoughts. Any ideas on what to go with a goofy last name like "Holler"? I like the name Aidan but it's too trendy. I'm open to suggestions

  • Lol anything helps! I just don't want people to call him Clay like Clay Aiken...I know that's weird but I'll have to get over it since it's short for Clayton

This is the exact association my husband made when I mentioned I liked the name for DS2. I have a completely different association with the name Clayton. The one I know has never gone by Clay, and he's just a great guy. So I just love the name!

  • I really like Clayton, but since it's a traditional surname and surnames are often given to places . . . Clayton Holler sounds like a tiny town or obscure hiking locale in the Blue Ridge Mountains: )

LOL Yeah, it's probably a good idea to stay away from Clayton. Maybe just stick with the traditional names where you can't make a pun out of it.

  • Well, funny story...my BIL's last name is Holler. His name is Bryan, and they just had a boy and named him Dalton. Holler isn't a goofy last name, at least you have 2 syllables! I think you got a lot of good suggestions above but I wanted to pass along the names of people I already knew with the same last name!
