Spotting after sex...

I know, there's a post every day about this, but this time it's me that's freaking out. Had sex two days ago and earlier today when I wiped there was brown stuff on the tp. Just went the bathroom now and there's brown stuff all in my underwear and again when I wiped! Did my cervix just get irritated? I only had 2 drops of red blood after my last exam and my midwife said that I would definitely bled from that. So I'm guess I'm just surprised at the amount of this brown stuff...

i know the feeling - i had some brown discharge (it was kind of 'mucousy' , sorry if TMI) 2 days ago. i went to the doc this AM and 2 nurses AND the doctor said brown spotting is usually normal and nothing to worry about.  hope it goes away soon tho!

We were on "pelvic rest" from week 6-8. Then we were cleared but my MW said that if I had any bleeding from sex, that we should refrain again bc it "just complicates things". I guess there's no way to know for sure that it's from sex and not just a coincidence! I goggled it and it says to call your doctor or midwife about any bleeding or spotting and just to mention that you've had sex recently. Should I really bother the on-call nurse?

it's common, but you should still put in a call to your MW.

I wonder if it is actually from having sex, or if it is a completely separate incident.  I thought that normally if you bleed after having sex, it would happen pretty soon afterwards.  Either way, I have heard that brown spotting is better than red spotting, but I would still put in a call to your MW just to be on the safe side.

Since it's brown, it could be that it is from the sex and it's brown because it's "old" now and just took a while to come out. 

With my last pregnancy I had sex when I was in the third tri and had bleeding (red and then brown) they told me to not have sex for a few days or not at all.  We did again later on and it was fine.  I also had to go in to the doctor because I had horrible pains after sex once, turns out it was just round ligament pain.

It's probably nothing, but it never hurts to call.
