Day not starting off too good

So last night i started spotting brown. It wasnt too much. I've been wearing these really thin pads just to keep an eye on whats going on, and it didnt fill that or anything. I decided not to freak out since I have my first appointment first thing today. SO, i get up early, get ready, and i'm driving to the docs office, and then i get a phone call. "someones in labor and he cant see you today, and he will be out the rest of the week".......awesome.

I explained to her whats going on, and said if he can really try to fit me in today that would be great. I'm also having a cramp in one particular spot, which very could well be ligaments stretching. All of this is probably totally normal and I may just be overreacting....but this is how my last M/C started out, and i would rather just know whats going on rather than not. I really dont want to wait until next week to find out.

am i overreacting?

Re: Day not starting off too good

  • No. You're not. I was floored when my first appointment got cancelled mid-stream because the OB had to run to deliver a baby before I got to do the u/s, and I wasn't even spotting. I think that you should call back and see if someone else from the practice can see you - and let them know that you know it may be nothing, but you really want someone to tell you for sure. Stay calm, ok?

  • He is the only one in the practice.....the office actually closes when he's not there. I did have an U/S last week and everything looked good, heartbeat and everything. But that was last week. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that they can fit me in later today.

  • I would be pretty upset if they couldn't see me, especially when you had an appointment. If I were in your shoes I would find another doctor, not because he's missing one appointment, but he's the only one in the practice. You need a doctor you can rely on. If you can't find a doctor to work you in today you can always make a trip to the ER. Sorry you're dealing with this.

  • I don't think your overreacting.  It's totally normal to be concerned, but I'm sure everything will be just fine.  I would see someone else in the practice -  you may find that you like him/her better anyway.
