I am fond of the name "Natalia," but it means "born on Christmas day" or "Christ's birthday." Would be weird to give a baby this name that wasn't born on 12/25?
I love this name! It is so pretty! I think it's ok to name a baby this any time of the year. I didn't know that's what it meant until I looked it up too and I was surprised.
First of all 12/25 isn't really Christ's birthday, it's just the day most commonly celebrated as his birthday.
Second, there are an awful lot of Natalia's in the world. I doubt many (if any) of them were born on 12/25 or any other date celebrated as Christ's birth.
Third, if we could only name babies with names/meanings that applied to them, there would be an awful lot of nameless children in the world. Think of all the Aprils, Autumns and Mays that would have to give up their names. Not to mention the Katherines and Katies!
I think it's fine. Then again, I may be biased because my LO's middle name is for Easter babies and she will be born in September. I doubt anyone will object.
Re: "Natalia"
I think very few people would actually know the meaning of Natalia, so I think that you are okay.
Noel and Noelle mean Christmas and these names are often given to babies born at other times of the year.

I don't think it's a big deal
Great name!
I highly doubt the majority of Natalia's are actually born on Christmas.
My name means "dark one" but I'm pretty up beat though I do like the sliming look of black

Lily? Pascale? Sunday? I must know!
Pasqualina. She's named after my grandfather, Pasquale, who really was an Easter baby.

Thanks everyone! I think you're right ... the meaning doesn't really matter.
