Tell me about FET's

No, I'm not 100% positive that this cycle is a bust.. But, if it is, we do have 2 frosties and I was just wondering what the typical chances of them both surviving the thaw are.

It really depends on the lab and what freezing/thawing method they use.  You should ask your RE.  The national average is somewhere around a 70% survival rate, but many labs do better, up to 90-95% survival rate.

We had 3 frozen blastocysts and my RE told me there was a 65% thaw rate, but all 3 survived thawing.

Thanks ladies. Hoping we don't have to use them for 2-3 more years... but the thought of them not making it through the thaw is heart wrenching.

I think all clinics are different. Mine is 97-98% thaw rate but I am still terrified that they won't survive.

Do you know what day they were frozen and what criteria your clinic has for freezing?

My clinic only freezes expanded blasts that are grade 1 or 2.  They have a 95% thaw rate.  They really only want to freeze embies that they think will survive thaw.

My blasts were day 5 expanded blasts and I had 4, 2 were transferred and 2 are for future siblings.

Even knowing my clinic's odds and the quality of my frosties I was a nervous wreck that they wouldn't thaw.
