Safest Carseats?

Any opinions from those that have started to read up on infant car seats, or already have a LO? I keep changing my mind because there is so much information out there.

  • We have a Graco Safeseat that we used for DS and loved so we plan on using it for LO # 2 as well. Its pretty much the same as the Graco Snugride 35 now.

  • If you are looking for a comparison of all types of seats, this website is helpful - https://www.nhtsa.gov/Safety/Ease-of-Use click on the type of seat you are looking for (infant, convertible, etc) and it has a rating system for Ease of Use, Securing the Child, Label/Instruction Evaluation, etc.

Having been through the child passenger safety technician training, I have seen and installed many types of seats, and all have to be crash tested and meet Federal Safety Standards to be put on the market.  So it's more about the ease of installation and the right fit for the car & child.

  • We plan on getting on the chicco keyfit 30, most reviews online are very positive and it has a very good rating from consumer reports.
  • We are going with the Gracco snugride also, it gets great ratings. It also clicks right into the snap and go stroller.
