We have been ttc for a year now with no results. I have very irregular cyles and we wanted to try it on our own for a while before we went to the dr. I haven't charted or anything. I am overweight (working on that part) and 25. What specific questions should I ask my dr? My appt is in two days.
Thanks!
Re: Seeing my Dr for the first time...what ?'s need to be asked
Are you going to see a RE? If not, I would ask your OB for a referral. A RE will run all the standard tests and hopefully come up with a diagnosis and plan.
Good luck!
Reproductive Endocrinologist. Their sole job is to get you pregnant. They will run all the proper testing before starting treatment. As Gym said, OB's are trained for taking care of you once you are pregnant. A RE is the way to go if you are having cycle issues.
So I just got back from my Dr. appt (OB). The nurse took my blood pressure and it was really high. I am kinda alarmed as it has never been high before. I am starting to think I need to make an appointment with my family dr. Then again, it could be that I was sooooo incredibly nervous. They did BW too. I go back in two weeks to discuss my options. The dr wasn't surprised that we haven't conceived on our own, knowing my history of irregular cycles. I sorta clammed up on asking a lot of questions. Next visit I should be better because I will be fully clothed. I am going to prepare a list of questions including a referral to a RE.
