MFI Weekly Check In

This group is for those of us dealing with male factor issues.   We
welcome everyone but mostly we are dealing with low count, motility, morphology or all three.  Male infertility is a mysterious world filled with questions no one, including REs, urologists, acupuncturists or anyone else seem to have the answers to.  Any treatment suggested is a coin toss for success and a 3 month wait for a fresh batch of swimmers. Most of us are told the only answer is IUI or IVF w/ICSI.  The purpose of this group is to support each other through shared experiences and to share any info we can because the more informed we are the better.   We have a check in every Sunday night/ Monday morning but I will try to post a link later in the afternoon/evening also.  Welcome and baby dust to all!

Update: Just enjoying our month off before IVF #3. It sure is nice to not be cycling

QOTW: I only lurk on others I lurk on SAIF, PAIF, and adoption regularly. Sometimes I'll drop by Decorating & Renovating or the Baby Names boards, too.

May I join you ladies? I'm new to the boards! DH has Low Testosterone with low counts and boarderline low morph. I had lap surgery a week ago and hope to by cycleing again next month with our final IUI before moving to IVF.

Update:  We had our first Embryo Transfer on Saturday.  Now we wait until Beta on 9/2.  I'm not exactly quite sure what to call us-because at this point the sperm that comes out in the ejaculate is worthless-we only got good sperm through the surgery.  If we have to go through this again, I want to talk to DH about using some DS along with his sperm.  I don't know if he'll go for it-but I think it's worth discussing.

QOTW:  I lurk on a lot of others when I'm bored.  I post sometimes on Baltimore Nesties, but it's hard to keep up with too many boards.  I just don't have the time!

Interesting Fact:  The new TLC show "Quints by Surprise", the Quints were conceived using Donor Sperm, and they talk about it pretty openly on their personal website!

Update: IUI #3 was last Thursday. DH's post wash count was just over 32 million!! If this IUI doesn't work, I'm going to have him do one more SA to get a look at what his morph is now (it was fine back in January) and, if it is still fine, I guess we will no longer be considered MFI...I guess we will see soon!

QOTW: I lurk on PAIF and SAIF...I never post on SAIF, I rarely post on PAIF.

Update:  DH is still getting the hang on giving himself the HCG injections three times a week and he started on Arimidex.  I found the generic Arimidex for $24 at Costco vs $315 for the generic at Wal Mart and CVS.  Just another reason why I love Costco!

Update:  Just waiting for AF, so I can call for a baseline to start our final IUI before moving to IVF (if need be).

Update: POAS today for IUI#6 and it was a BFN. Not surprised but I just don't know what we're going to do now. We'll be on a break indefinitely, perhaps forever. I just don't know.

QOTW- Well I'm a regular on 2IF, I post sometimes on adoption since we are waiting to get a home study, and I lurk sometimes on multiples, preemies, blended and others.
