I am HORRIBLE at remembering to take vitamins and meds. I'm especially bad when it comes to taking meds that have to be taken "a half hour before eating" or at specific times of day. I've always been bad but I'm really, really trying to turn over a new leaf and take my daily vitamins and my Metformin and Synthroid religiously every day.
Any tricks that you use to remember?
I've tried setting an alarm on my phone, but I can't have an alarm going off at work and I've tried setting up "meetings" on my work calendar and that only works if I happen to be at my desk when it pops up which isn't always the case.
Any other tricks?
Re: Any trick to remembering to take vitamins/meds?
As soon as I get to my desk in the morning, I pull out all my vitamins (prenatal, calcium, flax seed oil, folic acid, vitamin d. All my meds are injects) and put my pills for the day in a little dish. After breakfast I take the first half and after lunch the second. I used to not to that and I would forget to take them altogether or I would forget if I took the first set of pills.
Good luck!
I have a hard time remembering mine too! I have 3 pills of metformin and I almost always get two in, but three is super difficult. I am trying to set up a routine to help me remember to take all my pills. I will usually eat something as soon as I get to work or in the car to take my first pill (this is the one I have a hard time with), and the take my allergy, another metformin and PNV at lunch and finish dinner with my last metformin.
Wish you luck on getting into your routine!
I have a huge calendar and write them down on that master list. I put a box beside each med and check them off as I take throughout the day. Helps my Type A mind
I try to keep my meds next to the stuff I use daily to help remind me. For example, the baby aspirin is kept next to my contact solution which I take in the AM & my prenatals are kept next to my face soap which I use in the PM.
It is routine for me now. But I am just taking daily vitamins/supplements. I take them at my desk after I have eaten breakfast.
I am pretty serious about taking them - probably more so when I am cycling, but I rarely forget.
