Peyton: boys name or girls name

I like the name Peyton and we are having a little boy but I am trying to decide if the name Peyton is more of a boys name or girls name[Poll]

i'm not sold on this name for a child at all. i know a cat and two dogs named peyton/payton, and they were all named after walter payton.

I originally like it for a boy, a lot.  However, after the recent increase in using it for a girl, I have a hard time picturing it for a boy like I used to.

I have heard it used for both (and obviously there's Peyton Manning) but I personally prefer it as a girls name.

I used to think boy, but I think it is a girls name now.

I couldn't vote, either.  I teach 1st-5th grade students and I have both boys and girls with that name.

Also - not to make you feel bad - but I cannot stand that name.  It's literally everywhere, and you can never tell if the kid is a boy or a girl until you see them.  But I have big problems with unisex names.

I have a distant male cousin named Peyton....and I also think of Peyton Manning.

I think it's more popular for girls now but I much prefer it for a boy. Peyton Manning is all I can think of with that name.

I voted for girl as that is what we are naming our little girl. ?However, I think you can definitely use it for a boy too. ?I love unisex names though so I am partial. ?Our second and third place names were Avery and Taylor... both unisex so...?

Not a fan of unisex names, and combined with the super trendiness of this name, it's nms at all.
