Cloth Diapering

Stains

We haven't been cloth diapering long and already have two diapers with some pretty major stains. I have been (and planned on) washing every two days.  Prewash in cold, then full cycle in hot.   What else can I do to prevent stains or should I just accept the fact that the diapers will have stains?

Re: Stains

  • You can dry your diapers in the sun.  The sun magically removes stains!
  • Prefold or Pockets? I noticed our CottonBaby Prefolds stain easier then our GMD Prefolds...sad. But all of them seem to come out after a few more washes.

  • i have stains too, and the sun does nothing for them. I just bought some rockin green, and I ill try to soak them when I get a chance and see what happens.  GL

  • What kind of detergent are you using? I use Rockin Green and never have any stains.  The few stains I had before I started using it came out in the first wash with it.

  • I do a soak with no detergent, a regular hot wash then a second rinse.

Ditto! I am amazed by how well it removes stains from our diapers.
