Positive Pregnancy Test

I just took a pregnancy test this morning and it was positive. I do not have a regular doctor so I was wondering what my next move should be. There is a urgent care center up the road from my house and I was thinking of calling them to see if they could do a blood test so I can be sure. Or do I just go about finding a OBGYN and making an appt. for them to test me. inssurance is not an issue (I am covered) so any help or advice would be great! THANKS!! :)

    Congrats, you're pregnant! Save yourself some time and find an OB or midwife...whichever you prefer. Welcome to the boards!

    Call an OB and make an appointment.  And get a primary care physician.
    Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.

    Not sure if anyone else had this problem, but I was in the same boat as you and really wanted blood work just to confirm and an OB wouldn't see me until I was past 8 weeks (I tested at 5 weeks) which to me 3 weeks seemed to be an eternity! Anyways, I had to go to urgent care for some bleeding shortly after finding out and they confirmed it.  I'm not sure if urgent care would see you just for blood word though, but you could always go to Planned Parenthood, I know they will do a blood test for you.  Congratulations and good luck :)

    Congrats! I would find an OB you are comfortable with and make an appointment. I don't know if you have any close friends/family you would be willing to tell about your pregnancy but you can ask them for any doctors they would suggest.

    Just start asking some family and friends for a good Gyn (tell them you want to switch doctors if you dont want to tell them you think your pregnant).  I wouldnt do the urgent care thing, it's better to go to a doctor or midwife that you would stick with through your pregnancy. . .Good luck and welcome to the boards!
