I can't have regular soda because of the sugar. I gave up caffeine over 9 months ago. The only soda I have is sprite zero. However since my bfp I haven't had that either because I think diet soda is bad right, isn't it because of the aspartame? I would like to have one a day, but if they are not recommended I won't. Just wanted to see what you ladies were told by your OB.

Re: diet sodas are bad right?
It's bad for you in the sense that diet soda is bad for you in general.
I stopped drinking all diet soda when I was pregnant, but I did sneak a few. I think it was something like 1 a month...

lots of doctors say it's okay, but i personally don't trust the stuff. it gives me a headache, which i interpret as a bad sign about whether it's good for me or the baby. i agree with pp that splenda is the best one of you want to do an artificial sweetener.
and with all of this, moderation is key . . . i wouldn't recommend splenda or aspartame as a daily thing, but once a week or so is probably okay.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
My OB told me in extreme moderation it was okay. The one that you should not have at all is whatever is in Sweet N Low.
But I don't trust it at all, and I don't have any artificial sweeteners. I stick to water (you have to drink a ton of the stuff anyway) and don't eat low sugar foods/yogurt/etc.
I would really talk to your OB about it though. That way you can get some guidelines about how much is "in moderation."
