We just had a Rainsoft guy come out and do a presentation. While I recognize the need to put a whole home water filter system in our home, I'm not sure if this is the best company to go with. They offer reverse osmosis. Seems like there are a lot of companies out there that offer a similar product. Rainsoft is very expensive (would cost about $7000). But it seems like one of the best products out there. But if there is other companies that offer the same thing for less, I'd like to know about them. Any advice?
Re: Anyone purchase a whole home water filter system?
we did but I know absolutely nothing about the brands and who we went with. I would advise that you get multiple quotes, though. The first company that came out told us 8K, the second told us 2K!! They both said we needed completely different things so DH took a water sample to the county and had it tested. It turns out that we needed what the 8k guy was saying. After some digging around online, DH found a company that sold him all the parts and he installed it himself for about 1K.
Sorry I can't give specifics, but I just wanted to tell you to shop around and make sure you know what you need! Our water is amazing now.
