NBR: "you won't have to do a thing!" said DH...

Grrr.... my DH is having his summer interns over for a cookout tomorrow and promised me that I wouldn't have to do a thing to get ready. Now I am not that naive, but I was clear that his definition of ready for company and mine are different. So far, he went to the grocery store, but has not cleaned anything, prepped any food, or gone back to the grocery store for what he forgot. And, he went out last night and is out again - and I am home cleaning and prepping. Ugggh - he's going to owe me for this one!

  • My DH does the same thing after I tell him how things must be for people to be over too.  Last time I just didn't do anything and made it a point to not be home while his people were over.  When I got home he said how much work he had to do.  Duh DH!

  • Ah... After almost 5 years of marriage, I've gotten used to it. He owes you a spa day and dinner/dishes duty! :)
  • We don't have people over as much as we used to because it always made us argue. DH helps a lot around the house, but I'd still end up with most of the work and planning, get stressed out, and then we would be barely talking to each other by the time people arrived! I wish I just didn't care what state the house was in, but I do.
