Abnormal Sequential Integrated Screen

Monday I got a phone call from my doctor that the 1st step of the Sequential Integrated Screen came up Abnormal. Today I have to go see a counselor. I am so scared and nervous. This is my first pregnancy and I am 35 years old.  Will be 36 when I deliver.  Anyone else going through this.

I'm so sorry. I haven't had this test yet, I don't think, but with my first pg I had an abnormal NT scan and abnormal bloodwork. I ended up having a miscarriage.

The bump is great, but I also found some great support on the poor prenatal diagnosis board at https://www.babycenter.com

Thank you so much. I am trying to keep positive. I have talked to my one friend and she has a friend that the first test was abnormal and she delivered a healthy baby.  I know that my doctor wants me to have an amniocentesis and I am really scared, not good with needles.  Thanks for the website info.

I have not gotten my test results back yet, but I am also older (will be 35 when I deliver) - this sounds really stressful - I am keeping my fingers crossed all works out for you and your baby! ((hugs))

Yes it is really stressful and I am trying to stay positive.  Sometimes I wish I never took this test.  Thanks for the kind words and the hugs.  I will also keep my fingers crossed for you and your baby!
