This is a list of women who are dealing with PCOS. Anyone can join in, so let me know if you want to be on this list! We can keep track of everyone?s cycle, offer advice, and support for each other. We check in every week, and the check-ins can always be found in the PCOSbio.
Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

Let us know how you are doing. If you have any questions for the group to answer, feel free to ask.
QOTW: what your experiences have been with taking Metformin with Clomid vs. taking Clomid alone. I'm a "thin cyster" if that makes any difference.
Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~ PAIFW
QOTW: I didn't have a difference when I took them together or apart. I had no response either way.
Update: AF is here & hopefully on her way out. A week from today I will be at CCRM for my 1 day work up
Update: I got a bfp last friday and have had good betas so far. Hoping for first u/s Aug 30 or 31.
QOTD: I never took clomid without taking met so I don't have anything to compare it to. I responded very well to met though if that matters.
After two losses, third time was a charm.
pm me for blog link
I've been TTC since August 2009
Hi. On my 3rd cycle of Clomid now. Wish me luck!
QOTW: I took Met with Clomid for my first cycle and I responded much better than when I took Clomid alone during the 3rd cycle. I'm taking both again this time and praying for a miracle!
QOTW: I haven't been on Clomid, so I can't speak to that. I just ovulated for the first time after a year of being on Metformin though.
Update: After getting my hopes up ridiculously high from ovulating on my own (well, with Met) for the first time AF showed up on Tuesday. Good news was that I had a 14-day LP at least! I spent a good part of the weekend crying at my BFNs though.
DH and I had some good talks though. Started BBT again this month after ditching it last month (when I actually could have used it!) and will use OPKs again to see if I will actually O two months in a row!
Update: Had polypectomy last Friday 8-13. Surgery went well. Tired of AF! I had period for the whole week before surgery until the night before the surgery, thanks to Provera. Bleeding after surgery stopped Sunday. I started AF again Monday night - thanks to the Birth pills used for prep for the surgery! Too much time with AF for sure! Oh well! I have my post op appt on weds and will hopefully get the party started soon! I was told one cycle of rest prior to starting Clomid, so I am hoping that this AF that I am experiencing now is considered the start of a cycle!
I am sorry- no experience with Clomid yet!
QOTW: I haven't and will not be taking Clomid with Met, but when I did take Clomid alone, I responded good but the side effects were awful.
Update: Had my hyst/lap last week, things went well and the RE didn't find anything (which is good & bad) and we will start the process for our 6th & final IUI once AF arrives in a few weeks.

QOTW: I haven't taken Clomid but I have taken Femara with Met but never Femara w/out Met. Only Met side effects, this month, no side effects from Femara!
Update: Just had IUI #2 this morning so let the 2ww begin!
I've never taken Met, only Clomid. I didn't respond well though. No response on 50 or 100 mg. On 150mg I had only one follie when I triggered.
Update: I'm on day 5 of 5 on Femara 7.5mg. I go in for my CD12 u/s on Tuesday. Fingers crossed for a good response! We'll being doing our first IUI this cycle.
Me (32) Dx PCOS, DH (32) SA = Normal/mild morph issues
TTC#5 July 2017 - 3rd cycle TTC = BFP on 11/12/17 at 9dpo Beta #1 = 96 at 13dpo - Beta #2 = 207 at 15dpo
3 rounds of Clomid + TI and 3 rounds of 7.5 mg Femara + IUI before our BFP on 11/8/10 at 12dpiui
TTC #2 3rd cycle of Femara 7.5mg+Ovidrel+TI = 4 follies = BFP on 10/12/12
TTC#3 July 2014 - Metformin +TI = BFP at 9dpo - Twins, one baby lost at 5.5 weeks
Macy Annabelle born at 37w4d on 4/29/15. Diagnosed with Cri du Chat and passed away on 6/6/15. Forever in our hearts.
TTC#4 3rd cycle of Metformin + Femara 7.5mg+Ovidrel+TI = 3 follies = BFP on 12/24/16
QOTW: Sorry I can't help, I've never been on Clomid.
Update: I had my follie check u/s on Saturday and the RE said everything looked good so I triggered Monday night. He said I should have ovulated yesterday morning so now we're just waiting!
Today I'm 7 weeks, 1 day. Yesterday was my first u/s and everything measured on track and we saw a heartbeat. I'm praying it stays that way.
QOTD: I knew that I didn't want to do Clomid right away. We went straight to Femara. I took Met alone and then Femara in addition to the Met. I did not ovulate on my own with Met but Femara +Met got me my BFP. I did not notice any additional side effects with the Femara except an occasional headache. The the asker of the question: Does your RE/OB prescribe Femara? You may want to look into it. It seems to have less ill effects on CM and lining and a slightly less chance of multiples. Good luck!
QOTD: I never took Clomid so I am no help there, but I did take Femara and got my BFP on round 2. The first round we cancelled due to poor response but he upped my dose for round 2 and that is what worked for us.
Update: Really nothing new for me. I am still waiting on my first AF since the loss so that I can begin cycling again. My OB told me to wait about 3 months and my RE said I can try again whenever we are ready so I am going to go right in the middle of the 2 and begin trying again in September hopefully. I would LIKE my body to have at least 1 AF on my own before I introduce meds but I am getting a bit impatient. It's been 5 weeks since I stopped bleeding from the delivery! We will see how long I hold out before I hit up the pharmacy for some AF inducing drugs.
Update: Had first appt with RE on Tuesday. Starting Prometrium, then Clomid. I'm a little concerned that I won't respond at all to 50mg because as a general rule my body processes meds very quickly and it isn't uncommon for me to need higher or longer doses of everything.
QOTW: Just starting Clomid next week. I'm on 2000mg of met now, so hopefully it will help my response.
QOTW: I didn't have a response with Clomid, so no difference for me.
Update: My first follie check for this cycle was Tues, and there was nothing. They increased me to 225 of Menopur for 3 days, & I go back for another follie check tomorrow. I am hoping at least something will have happened!
Update: Just finished up my third Clomid cycle...hopefully third time is a charm.
If not, I have an appointment on Sept 2 to discuss/schedule an HSG and ovarian drilling.
QOTW: I have only taken both each cycle. So...I'm not really any help. GL though.
After our third IUI was a BFN, I am back on the pill for a month. IUI with injects possibly in September.
QOTW: I have only taken Femara with Metformin. I too am a "thin cyster" and never had any side effects with the Femara.
AF is on her way out, so hoping for IUI #3 soon!
QOTD: I have only taken clomid with met, nothing else.. so nothing else to compare to.
QOTD - my RE says that there are no conclusive studies that show any benefit from taking metformin if you are not IR. I'm not so I don't take it. And I didn't have any response to clomid at all so I'm really of no use with today's question!
Update: I start BCP on Sunday for FET estimated to be around sept 27.
Tara & Dave - TTC since September 2006
PCOS - dx 1999 (amenorrhea) | freakishly long fallopian tubes
Hypoglycemic | thyroid issues | severely anemic
Multiple Clomid cycles of 50, 100, 150 - absolutely no response
Follistim 50/100 | Follistim 75/125 | Follistim 100/150 IUI - all BFNs
Converted IVF - BFP - m/c | FET - BFN | IVF #2 = BFN
IVF #3
qotw: I have never taken just clomid alone because my doc always thought that it was best taken with Metformin. Metformin can be taken alone and it *may* help with ovulation, but even that doesn't always work.
I am doing alright, have had very little sleep all week due to DH's change of work schedule, but it should be a relaxing weekend. I am in an annovulatory cycle, so I should probably take prometrium soon. Perhaps starting Monday...
Training classes are going well and we are half way thru, so time is just flying from that aspect.
*PCOS bio* *Cold Hands, Warm Heart*
I would like to join. I was diagnosed with PCOS back in March. My DH and I have been TTC since June '09 my name is Jessica
QOTW: I take both Metformin and Clomid and get hot flashes all the time. never been on just clomid alone.
QOTW: haven't started meds yet, so can't help there
Update: I just had my shortest cycle yet! I ovulated on my own, and had a 32 day cycle. Significantly shorter than my normal 50-60 day cycle. I'm hoping it was the weight I lost, and that this next cycle is short as well (even better if a BFP of course!)
