What to expect at 6w u/s

I will have my first u/s next Friday. What should I expect at this u/s. I know what I will be looking for on the u/s, but will anything else happen at this appointment? Will my RE go over anything pregnancy related with me?

This is all so foreign!

After my 6 wk u/s I met with my nurse who went over the u/s results with me and then went over this big packet of early pregnancy information. I don't know if this is standard or not.

Yay for your u/s next Friday!!

At my 6w one they checked to see the h/b and then we met with the RE. They told me to schedule my first OB appointment for some time after 10 weeks and gave me some recs since I was planning to switch OBs.  They also took me off the endometrin. I had to go back for another one at 8w to check progress and then I graduated. They wanted to know who my OB was at that time so they could forward my records.

We didn't really discuss any early pregnancy things until I got to the OB so I did a lot of reading.

I had an emergency u/s at 6w due to spotting.  We saw a faint hb, but RE asked me to come back later in 7w to double check.  After hb was confirmed, he told me to call OB's office to schedule an appt at 10w.  No pregnancy info was passed on to me by RE's office.

We saw our little bean and a heartbeat at our 6w3d u/s, which was my last appt with the RE.  The RE asked how I was feeling and if I had any immediate questions. 

The OB office were the ones to give me the big packet of info on pregnancy though, and after the initial meeting with the OB nurse to go over the packet at around 6w, I started going to my OB appts at 10w.
