doppler at doctors today

Now i know that i will never get one of those, the doctor could not find the heartbeat on it and i got so scared and anxious so she ordered an ultrasound and all is ok, saw the little baby doing flips and moving its hand and feet.  I could see the brain hemispheres separated and leg bones, toes and fingers.  Heartbeat is 175.  Everything is on track.  Thank God!

Nausea is starting to subside but now i'm eating more than before which i did not think was possible.  doctor said this intense hunger should subside in a couple weeks, she ordered blood test for my thyroid just in case. I can't believe how much i am eating and very nervous about it all and how much weight i will gain.

Thank you so much for posting this.  I just had my appointment today at 11 weeks and they could not find the heartbeat with the doppler.  My MW doesn't do u/s, so reading your post just made me feel 100% better.

You should get your thyroid checked regardless. But as someone with thyroid problems, I wonder if your doctor thinks that there is connection btw your hunger and your thyroid. I feel so hungry lately and I already know that my thyroid is out of whack. Is it to be blamed for this too? 

 

BTW, very excited to see the baby doing flips!!!!

I will find out tomorrow, if it is I have no idea what they do to control it, i was fine before pregnancy.  eating 3 meals and 1 snack a day, now its just nuts and has been since bfp!  could pregnancy cause thyroid issues?

I'm surprised your doctor even tried, honestly. Mine refuses until you're in the 2nd trimester for this very reason. Lucky for me, I've been able to find it on my own for a few weeks now.

my ob tried the doppler on monday (at 9wks) and couldn't find the heartbeat. she wasn't worried at all, said sometimes she doens't find it til 15 weeks. she didn't even order an u/s. fortunately (?) i'm so nauseous all the time i know the baby's okay, lol.
