nuchal fold measurement question?!?!

So a friend of mine had a nuchal fold measurement of 3.1mm.... the stupid tech told her she needs to talk to her Dr. to decide what they want to do with the pregnancy. Of course she was floored and now freaking about her baby and its risk for Downs Syndrome. When the Dr. came in to talk with the her and her hubby, he said to do some blood work and wait to see what that shows. Just wondering if anyone out there had a similar measurement and how your pregnancy went and how your baby is now. The research I found suggested the highest risk is for measurements of 6-7mm. Just looking for some advice. TIA!
