I am the biggest girly-girl that ever lived, and I don't like for my daughter to wear dresses.
They ride up when I hold her (yes, she wears matching bloomers, but still), and they bunch up and make it hard to buckle her into her car seat or stroller. She doesn't seem to be very comfortable when she wears them. Not to mention, she is a chubster, and the bloomers always seem to be too small.
Basically, she is living in bubbles these days and I am stocking up on rompers and longalls for the fall/winter. I'm thinking she'll start wearing dresses more once she begins walking, so hopefully next summer.
I just thought I'd pass this on since I bought SO many dresses before she was born. I've made sure she's worn everything at least once, even if it's just for a few hours, but I really wish I hadn't bought so many!
Re: Moms-to-be of girls: something I never thought I'd say
bubbles? What is that?
Can you put leggings on under the dress?
Agree 100%.
Anything that is not one piece is a pain until they can sit supported by themselves. You're constantly tugging, pulling down, etc. Forget about clothing with collars as well, when they can't hold their head up the collars look very uncomfy.
I heart Baby B
that is all...
and I still dont think she looks like Yoda...that is all.
It's not exposing the baby that I don't like (as I said she always wears matching bloomers with her dresses, and I do have tights and leggings for her to wear in colder weather), it's the big wad of fabric that bunches up between her and my arm when I hold her.
Bubbles are cutesy one-piece outfits for babies. Here are two of her favorites as examples--one is obviously what she is wearing in my siggy pic:
Haha! She is definitely starting to look less like Yoda these days--but boy, did she go through a little awkward phase (yes, I can admit it)!
ha-ha I am proud of you...
Aww but you have to buy dresses!! My daughter likes wearing dresses. I have been putting her in dresses since she was born and have not had any problems. I love the look of dresses with tights in the winter. Now when I say dresses, I am talking about comfortable cotton dresses from the GAP.
My daughter is on the petite side so I have never had to worry about bloomers being too tight. Dresses are great, because they can fit for a while too since the size is more flexible than pants and shirts. She has stayed true to size in dresses but often cannot wear pants because they will fall down.
I just thought I would share my thoughts since I love dresses on my baby girl!!!
thanks for the tip! and the pic of what the heck a bubble is!
honestly? i think it's CUTER than a dress because it comes in at those cute little chubby baby thighs!
i don't think i registered for any dresses--mostly onesies and a few cute outfits, but who knows what people will buy when they have the opportunity to shop for a baby girl. when i do my own shopping afterwards, i will definitely make sure there are "bubbles" in the bunch!
thanks!

Mommy to 2 boys, ages 7 and 5 and a little girl who is 1.5
Thanks!! I got it from www.sweetandsimpleonline.com. But I bought it back in January (right after my big ultrasound) and it looks like they don't have it anymore. They have other cute stuff, though.
The best place to buy monogrammed or appliqued bubbles, hands-down, is Etsy.
