I'm new at this, so i'm not sure if this is the norm or not. I found a local MoM group and they are asking for $37.50 a year, is this the norm for this sort of thing or not? All in all it's not that huge of a fee and i'm sure i'll get to benefit a lot from other MoM's, I was just kinda curious....
TIA!
Re: Membership fee for local MoM group?
Which reminds me, I need to pay it!
ours is about the same (30something), and includes monthly meetings w/some good speakers. last meeting we had a pilates instructor come, who is also a twin mommy. dinner is provided at meetings, including wine
we have a few other included events, and a nice message board. very worth while!
i think ours is $40. That's normal for a group around here (my sorority alum group's dues are that much).
Ours is $30.
I know it may seem like a lot, but speaking from experience, you'd be surprised how many small costs there are in running an organization. Ours is incorporated and there are various filing fees, the PO box, web hosting, office supplies, postage, etc. People whine about it, but it really does add up. No one's getting rich off the membership fees.
And we do 3 or 4 picnics a year where the club always supplies something. We don't do any fundraisers, and our consignment sale makes just enough money to cover facility rental.
