So this has been my very first month ttc... and while I'm not counting myself entirely out (after 4 BFNs and only 2 days till AF shows) I'm not getting my hopes up.. Better luck next month!
Anywho, this got me thinking... after spending some... ok, most... of my college years trying not to get pregnant (who knew you only had a 3 day window to conceive??) I have now tried to get pregnant with no luck. What the heck?! (ok I wasn't THAT busy during college... )
This is what I've learned during the longest four weeks of my life...
I had no idea how many pms symptoms I really had, or how sore my bbs hurt during the tww. Clearly I have never paid them close enough attention. Who would have thought something like a temperature could tell you so much about your body?! Why weren't these things discussed in high school sex ed? Would have saved a lot on bcp! I had no idea how hard it would be to see only one single line on that damn plastic stick ![]()
There is something special and so damn frustrating about an unsuccessful very first month ttc. What did you learn from yours??

I agree that they should teach this stuff in high school! I do think, however that bcp was the right choice of birth control for me during college and my early 20s. I had such erratic sleep patterns and was a regular drinker, so my temps would have been insane. Also, I was dumb and wanted boys to like me, so even if I had been able to chart, I probably would have played fast and loose with the rules about when to abstain to prevent pregnancy.
I do wish that I had known all of this stuff sooner, though. I could have started using this as my primary birth control method about a year into my relationship with MH, once we were committed and settled. I hate that I pumped those artificial hormones into myself for so long! I hope I never have to go back on bcp.
Good luck next month!
FO SHIZZZ!!!! Ughh so much money down the drain but I honestly didn't know there was any other option (besides condoms) I never really knew much about ovulation/temping before DH and I started talking kids. Just being honest.
That it was actually harder (emotionally) than I thought it would be (and I already expected it to be hard)
...and agree with a PP - that I better start charting before I go insane! Makes me feel somewhat in control of a situation that is really beyond my control.
I just keep trying to remember that it will happen on God's time, not mine. He knows when it is the right time for us better than I do!
